South South Triangular Cooperation Exchange

A team from Nepal's energy sector, led by Mr. Jeebachh Mandal, Joint Secretary, Development Cooperation and Provincial Division, Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation (MoEWRI), participated in the second Exchange of South-South Triangular Cooperation (SSTC) on Decentralized Renewable Energy (DRE) with representatives from Nepal, Indonesia, and Germany. 15 Nepali delegates from MoEWRI, the Alternative Energy Promotion Center, the Department of Electricity Development, the Nepal Electricity Authority, academicians, associations and private sector stakeholders joined their Indonesian counterparts in a four-day virtual exchange.
The Key discussions revolved around:
✅ National policies, regulations and strategies for energy efficiency
✅ Women's professional development in the energy sector.
✅ Regulatory framework and benchmarking in waste-to-energy projects.
✅ Roles of associations in advancing renewable energy and energy efficiency initiatives.
The teams identified four potential topics for future collaboration between Nepal and Indonesia, paving the way for impactful mutual learning and stronger ties in the DRE sector. This exchange, led by GIZ Indonesia, the ENTRI Project, and the Indonesian Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, with support from REEEP-GREEN in Nepal, marks a significant step forward.
